Printing and binding in one place
Copy Print Center has been in the Lange Laube for more than 36 years. We print and bind theses on our own machines, in our own shop — nothing is sent away and nothing is outsourced. That is why we can talk about deadlines realistically and why short-notice work is often possible.
If German is not your first language, that is not a problem here: we speak English and Farsi as well as German.
Check your examination regulations first
This is the single most common source of trouble. In Germany, your faculty's examination regulations usually state which binding is accepted and how many copies you must submit — and the requirements differ between faculties, sometimes between degree programmes. Some require a fixed hardcover; others accept glue binding; a few ask for an additional digital copy.
Please check this before you order. If the wording is hard to interpret, send us the passage or bring it with you — we deal with these regulations every week and can usually tell you straight away what it means in practice.
Choosing a binding
Hardcover is the classic submission binding: a firm, durable cover that looks representative on a shelf. It is the safe choice when your regulations call for a fixed binding, and it is the one most often required for doctoral theses.
Softcover and glue binding produce a slimmer, book-like result. They are lighter and less expensive than hardcover and are widely accepted for bachelor and master theses — provided your regulations allow them.
Spiral binding lets the pages lie completely flat. It is rarely accepted as a submission binding, but it is the practical choice for working copies, correction copies and drafts you want to write in.
If you want the lettering on the cover or spine in gold or another foil, we can do that too — it requires a fixed binding.
What else we print
Beyond theses, you can use us for everyday student printing: copies and printouts in black and white or colour, posters and plans up to DIN A0 for conferences and poster sessions, scanning and digitising of documents, and lamination. If you need something we have not listed, just ask.
